Well we just got back from our trip to California. It was a fun one, filled with lots of good food and great company. We were able to see Grandpa & Grandma Callahan at the lake, hit the golf course with Nate and Dad, and even through a few pitches which I haven't done for years. We even "tried" to play basketball, which made me understand why I never tried to play. Dad kept on saying, "Man, you guys suck at sports!" "Only sport your guys were good at was rollerhockey!" I got a few pitches over the mound, Nate did better than me, and Jean-Ann even threw a few.
Mandy was able to get in her shopping with the sis-n-laws (Liz, Erica, & Jean-Ann) and Laynie even had a sleep over with Aubryn which was pretty cool. Larry beat me with his I.Q. and Dad even tried to get struck by lightening while we were playing golf. I did shoot a 39 (par 46) on the put course.
We were able to celebrate Mom's 59th birthday singing the birthday song perfectly in tune. And at the end I even had a full plate of nacho's loaded with jalapenos! (Not always a good idea when your about to fly.) I'm glad that we were able to spend time with the family and enjoy one anothers company. I'm thankful for the efforts made so that we could share the time together. As Dad said, "The most important thing you have in life is your "time" and how you spend it means a lot to me!"
Thank you Larry, Erica, Liz, Nate, Jean-Ann, Mom & Dad, and all the kids for taking the time to share with us.

happy new year.. oh wait...
so I'm a little late at getting this out but what can I say things have been crazy this last month.
First I want to tell my hubby thanks for the cute blog you really are the light of my life, I dont know what I would do with out you sometimes.
Im going to be an aunt to my very own sister!!! Congrats Rachel and Chris!! Im so excited for you, I dont know why it feels so different when its your sister that is preggie :)
I dont know where to start but I want to say that it was a wonderful christmas holiday filled with lots of good food and good company. This christmas was different than others in the past. Maybe it is because I have kids of my own and my heart just explodes when I see how happy the little things make them such as christmas lights outside or sitting on santa's lap, or even reading the nativity story.
We even had a christmas party at our house this year complete with a white elephant gift exchange which was loads of fun, im thinking of making it a tradition. For Christmas Matt and I are both proud Ipod owners, although he got me a better one that I got him (he always has to out do me). Laynie got a new Barbie house which she loves and lots of other toys along with her brother Peyton. They really are blessed to have such generous people around them.
Our family was able to take a vacation after Christmas to Brianhead with my family. It was much needed to get awhile for a few days. The weather was quite perfect for skiing. My skiing ability is not the greatest considering it has been about 3 years. Matt and my sister decided to take me down a black diamond slope!! against my will of course, and forgetting how scared of heights I am. Then he gets mad at me when I decide to slide down instead of ski!! It was a fun time with a few face plants in the snow and some sore legs the next few days. New years eve was pretty uneventful I stayed home and enjoyed the peace and quiet, while my hubby was working on the strip with all the crazy folks.
I have quite a few new years resolutions this year and I am a little worried about what this new year will bring with so much change going on in the world. I do know that I can only continue to try and better myself each day and try to be a good person. I can't control what happens around me but I can control me and I think I am okay with that. so with that said here are a few of my new years resolutions:
1. Loose the last 10 lbs (but 15lbs would be even better)
2. Work out 3x a week
3. Read BOM by end of the year
4. Learn a new skill
5. Try to go shopping less and save more
Hope everyone had a great holiday and best of luck in the new year!!
here are a few pics of my holiday season

Happy Holidays!!!
I love Christmas time! It's great to be with family, friends, and remember the important things in life. I love my beautiful wife and crazy kids. I love spending quality time with the family and I'm so thankful for the gospel blessings I enjoy. I'm thankful for my parents and the love they have for each other. I'm thankful for Mandy's parents and all the things that they help and support us with. They are truly great people. When I look around at all that is happening in the world I am grateful for the roof over head, the food on the table, and a job that provides. Merry Christmas to all this year and I hope that you too can realize all the things that we can be thankful for this season.

Happy Birthday Mom
Happy Birthday Mom it must feel good to be 60! haha just kidding I know it will be bad day when you do turn 60. I hope that you have a great birthday and you get everything that you ask for. You are such a good mother to me and I want you to know that. I appreciate all of the little things that you do to help. Your a best friend to me and I hope it stays like that forever. You mean the world to Laynie which I am grateful for. I asked Laynie how old you were going to be and she said 21 so I hope that makes you feel good. Its like they say you are only as old as you feel. I think
you get to busy sometimes that you forget to take care of yourself so I hope you can do more of that in the upcoming year. We love you.

my heart is full..
My heart is very full today and has truely been touched by the spirit. I attended a funeral today for a client of my credit union and also the doctor who gave birth to my daughter. He took his life last weekend and I have not stopped thinking about ever since. I got the phone call and did not want to believe that it was true. The puzzle did not fit together for me especially with him being a strong member of the church. He was such a caring person he took me late in my pregnancy at 27 weeks and saw me every week after until I had my daughter to make sure that I got the best care. He would answer all of my crazy questions at any time of the day and was still very cheerful .I saw him in the credit union and he always said hi and asked about my family. I was sad when my insurance changed and I had to change doctors with Peyton. Everytime I saw him in the credit union when I was pregnant with Peyton he would ask how I was feeling and he always said is Dr. Groom taking good care of you? He did not have to take his time to do that because he was so busy but it just goes to show the type of person that he was. He has delivered quite a few babies in the Evans family. I can honestly say it was the saddest funeral I have ever been too but on the same note I am so grateful for the gospel and the knowledge that it gives to us. My life was touched by this person and I know that he will be missed. Thank you for helping me bring my daughter into this world. May the Lord be with you

Thankful for...
finishing twilight and yes I LOVE it. I bought the series of books just so I can read them again. There are so many good things about these books that I loved, I am regretting not having started it sooner. My sister is just as crazy about the book as I am so we went to the midnight premiere and made some cute shirts.

My favorite quote from the book (or one of my favs)
yes I thought the movie was good, Rob Pattison who played Edward in the movie looked hot of course, well most of the cullens were hot, I wish the movie was longer and the special effects were super cheesy. I dont like how they made the kissing scene super sexy because in the first book that is not how it was, and I dont like the prom dress with the sneakers and ugly sweater!! she was supposed to be wearing heels and pretty dress! Overall it was good and I have been debating about going and seeing it again, and Im sure I will.
Thanksgiving was good.. there was lots of good food at my moms. It was also my sisters birthday which she hates sharing with the holiday. Amazingly my mom let my cook a few things. I think she is trying to show me how to make the yumminess because someday she wont be here or be able too which is a good thing if you have ever had her cooking. It was a nice day to just spend with family. My kids have been trying to get over a little bug along with myself so Peyton has been a little cranky but who can blame him. I did go shopping with all of the other crazies on friday but I did not really find much, and I was super tired. I cant believe its christmas season and it is 70 outside.. i want it to be cold so I can wear some cute winter clothes!
